Marketing and Business Development Specialist

Responsibilities

  • As the Marketing and Business Development Specialist (MBDS), you will work closely with management and different teams on a wide variety of initiatives supporting revenue-generating and general marketing and visibility opportunities for the agency
  • Specific areas of focus will include networking, identifying potential new clients and opportunities, support for pitches and RFPs, research, market visibility and recognition efforts, marketing content development and experience management, events and sponsorships, general business development activities and more
  • The MBDS assists in strategic planning and tactical execution and completes research and analysis in support of the agency’s objectives
  • Prepares sophisticated, thoughtful and persuasive pitch communications, including RFP responses and tailored marketing collateral
  • The MBDS supports management when and where required
  • Conducts research on companies, industries, marketplaces and competitors related to pitches and other strategic initiatives; develops insights and communicates recommendations and applicable information to management
  • Gathers intelligence on business trends to provide client opportunities with an understanding of the competitive landscape and to position the agency for increased effectiveness in winning new business
  • Supports the activities related to onboarding lateral and/or new partners, including executing individual client development plans
  • Performs special projects as requested by management
  • Displays integrity, quality service and a “can do” attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via email and written correspondence, over the telephone and in-person

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Proven experience in a dynamic environment with high expectations for superior client service, attention to detail and quality
  • Thrives in a collegial team environment with a flexible mindset, eye towards
    continuous improvement, and willingness to collaborate and lend support where needed
  • Strong time management skills to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Research skills and reasoning ability to turn data into succinct and useful deliverables for team
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Three – five or more years of experience in the marketing and advertising environment or professional services marketing and business development role

Public Relations Account Manager

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a broad range of proactive PR and social media strategies/programs for assigned clients, identifying opportunities to build clients’ visibility in media outlets (print, broadcast, radio, blogs, other social media) that reach their targeted consumers and business communities
  • Develop and implement public relation activities including new product introductions, product reviews, analyst relations, awards and speaker and quoting opportunities for both clients and the agency alike
  • Become an expert on your clients’ business and the competitive landscape
  • Provide strategic recommendations and creative ideas for clients on an ongoing basis; proactively identifying and addresses clients’ needs and agency opportunities
  • Ensure the account team is effectively executing on the client’s program, meeting defined deliverables, and delivering excellent client service
  • Build strong client relations at senior levels, identifies and troubleshoots issues and challenges as they relate to client satisfaction and overall program success
  • Actively participate in new business: Identifies opportunities to upsell and grow the account; brings in new business opportunities through own network, experience and meet established revenue goals; generates new business pitch decks with strategic, creative thinking; contributes meaningfully to RFPs; and plays a key role in a new business meeting and/or messaging and positioning session
  • Ability to conceive and oversee the implementation of overall communication programs as well as targeted product launches, announcements, strategies, message development and corporate positioning

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in consumer public relations
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple clients as well as manage multiple junior team members
  • A demonstrated track record of leading successful, measurable PR and social media programs for multiple clients
  • A desire to work in a fast-moving, dynamic, team-oriented environment
